Do you like to code and play with REST-ful APIs? Do you enjoy hacking around in your favorite language, framework or platform? And how about doing it for Bitcoins?
At JSLogger we just launched our REST-ful API. We enjoy building on it and extending our platform functionality as much as possible. But, we would like to know how comfortable other people are building on our API. To get more feedback about it, we decided to start a contest for the cutest app built on the JSLogger API.
What do you have to do?
Wrap up an application that consumes the JSLogger API in your favorite language and platform. It can be a web app on PHP, Rails, Node… or an iOS, Android, .NET, Java app… it doesn’t matter. The point is to try to query as many endpoints as possible: registration, login, logs rendering, profile editing… Push your application on a public GitHub repository when you are done building it and ping us on Twitter, Facebook or email. We will fork your app under our GitHub account.
How much time do you have?
The contest will run for three weeks from the day this article was published. But that doesn’t mean that you have to spend the entire time building it. A couple of hours spent on it are more than enough. Please keep in mind that you have to push your app on GitHub before the deadline.
What can you win?
We are giving away 3 Bitcoins for the best app, 2 BTC for the second place and 1 BTC for the third place.
Where do you start?
Here is an article that demonstrates the interaction with the API that might serve as a great tutorial. Don’t forget to check out our Rails app example on GitHub. Follow us on Twitter or Facebook to get instant help.
